How to assemble The EZ Stitch Lap Stand

Join Donnett as she walks you through just how easy it is to set up the EZ Stitch - Lap Stand.

Assembly is simple and can be completed within minutes. This sturdy frame is fashioned from solid American Red Oak and hand finished with Golden Oak oil stain.

Since the above video was released, Lap Stands and Leg Kits now include LOCK SPACERS which change slightly how the frame is assembled. These spacers make the stand more versatle by providing the the ability to adjust rotation resistance on the frame.  This video will demonstrate how the LOCK SPACER is used.

The EZ Stitch – Lap Stand includes...

  • 2 EZ Stitch Lap Stand Legs

  • 2- 12" Side Bars

  • 2- 20" Scroll Rods with EZ Stitch Tape for Rods

  • 2 Spacers

  • 1 Roll EZ Stitch Tape For Fabric

  • 10 Knobs

Its Legs provides a stable platform for all your projects both large and small. With the Lap Stand you have a full 360° frame rotation for quick, easy access to the back of your project.

Place the feet on the legs and secure with 2 knobs.

Place the Scroll Rods into the Side Bars and secure with knobs.

With the 12"  Side Bars they allow you lots of placement options for not only the Scroll Rods but for placement of the frame.  Making it customizable to best suit your seating position for either Lap or Table use.

The screw goes through the Side Bar then the Spacer finally the Leg and secured with a knob. Now that knob needs to be loosened before you flip it over to get to the back of your work. Then once you flip it back use a screwdriver to tighten it back down and secure the frame into place.

The EZ Stitch Lap Stand uses the EZ Stitch Tape which comes in two parts. The first part (EZ Stitch Tape for rods) is already attached to the Scroll Rods. The second part is the EZ Stitch Tape for Fabric, which you will attach to your fabric.

Check out my Blog on How to attach the EZ Tape for Fabric to your Fabric.

One of the benefits of having a EZ Stitch Lap / Table Stand is that now you can stitch with both hands. I have found that not only is stitching with both hands much faster, but my stitches look much neater and straight.

Another benefit is that my hands scarcely touch the fabric. So no more dirty, stained fabric when you are done stitching.

One of the best things about the EZ Stitch Scroll Frame System is that everything is interchangeable. You can change the rods to fit any project.  EZ Stitch Scroll Rods are available from 6" up to 48" and the EZ Stitch Side Bars are available from 6" up to 16".

Hi Nancy;

I have the EZstand system and I purchased a 8.5. X 11 piece of plexiglass and my Step dad and I made pattern page mount and since I am left handed? This pattern mount board is in my view and slightly off center so I can stitch and Mark off the pattern as I stitch??? This is a invaluable tool and very inexpensive to make and use??¿??
