Towel toppers are a fun -- and fairly simple -- way to add personality to a plain kitchen towel. Select a cheery-themed fabric and gather your supplies -- you'll be done in no time!

Recommended Exquisite Thread for Towel Topper, A DIME On-the-House Free Design

This design uses foam as well as fabric. Since this is also a bit of a stand alone design, you will need to cut the foam and the fabric out. DIME recommends two options for cutting the foam: Using your embroidery machine to embroider the Towel Topper Foam Outline onto your foam and then cutting ON the outline, or printing the pdf provided in the Towel Topper Foam Outline and using that as your cutting guide for the foam.

Similar options for cutting the fabric, although one can use a digital cutter on it too (files for digital cutters and the pdfs for manual cutting are included in Towel Topper Cut files).

The main instructional pdf is found in Towel Topper Embroidery (along with the designs for the satin stitch and criss-cross pattern), and explains the project in further detail.

Just downloaded the free "on the house" "Witchs cauldron" it came up see through not stitched filled. why didn't or you mention that this design is a applique? I would not have downloaded it. or do you have one that is stitched filled?

Hi Teresa,

Thanks for your question. Sunny Girl was last year's series and a very popular one! However, On the House designs are available for only the year in which they were introduced, and so the Sunny Girls are unfortunately no longer available.

I do think it's odd that the pdf doesn't show up as a file under the "Includes Downloadable Items" tab on this page, but it is there. If you check out this design by "buying" it, you will be able to see it in the after-buying process for downloadable designs. I checked it out myself to be sure. I'm looking forward to stitching this lovely design on something too!
